MRI - Sequence protocols
MRI sequence protocols have to be anatomically and technically adapted to the clinical question and reproducible in the follow-up.
We prefer contrast-enhanced MRI examinations, which generally consist of three plain and two contrast-enhanced turbo spin echo sequences. For oblique structures (scapholunate ligament, lunotriquetral ligament, TFCC), 3D sequences can be helpful to perform angulated secondary reconstructions in post-processing.
The following tables reflect own recommendations on 3 Tesla scanners, which are subjective and can be modified individually. The future will probably bring further changes with AI support ("deep resolve") and new hardware technologies.
